Welcome to the Camberwell Online blog, a place for free and spirited exchange on anything with even a tangential connection to the South-East London district.

Just some stuff

Published by Peter | Filed under General

Can’t find the story online anywhere, but apparently a man set himself on fire on Camberwell Green on Saturday! I just had time to read the first paragraphs on the front page of the newspaper as I was rushing through the newsagent, so I don’t know any further details. Can anyone help?

Update: More on that story from the South London Press.

As you may be able to see, I’ve set up a little Flickr.com badge on the homepage to show a few images of Camberwell (I hope to take more soon). If anyone else has a Flickr account and would like to add theirs, join the Camberwell SE5 group and let’s have them.

When I get more time there are a number of other changes I want to make to this blog - maybe in time for my first anniversary.

Finally, congratulations to reader Ben Patio who, with the help of his partner, is about to increase the population of Camberwell by (at least) one. Good work, Ben.

    Just the one, thankfully.

The air ambulance was hovering above our house while it was waiting to land on Camberwell Green on Saturday. I guess that’s what it was about.

    cool, well done ben!
