The Mark McGowan running tap installation has made it onto the pages of The Guardian, and has put Thames Water in an embarrassing situation; the more they complain about it, the more it’s highlighted that they currently lose 29% of their water through leaky pipes.
Artistic protest; fantastic.
Update: An interview with the artist that’s definitely worth reading.
People have come in and turned it off. But that’s OK, because I’ve been there to talk to them about it. The piece is directed towards individuals. I’ve told them stuff like how you can waste up to 100 litres of water doing your washing up under a running tap, to draw attention to why I’m doing it.
And yes, I am ignoring the elephant in the room.
