Characters

I think I saw The White Woman of Camberwell last week. I’m not 100% certain because she just had a light whitewash rather than the plastered look of old, and she wasn’t dressed all in white; but she was definitely a black woman with a coat of white paint, and she looked like I remember her (although it’s been a long time). Maybe it is her and she’s getting better; or maybe it’s someone else with the same condition.

Also, has anyone seen the Ratman? There’s a middle-aged man with close-cropped hair, dyed red, who walks around with two rats (one white, one brown) on his shoulder; I’ve seen him twice around the Dagmar Road area; I’d like to photograph him, but he looks a bit fearsome.

Yup, saw the dude coming down coldharbour lane, just outside ‘Ed’s diner’, the reaction of people as he walked past was priceless, from ‘huh?’ to ‘aaaaaiiiiigh!!!’. also seen the white woman in Caldecot road, accosted me and asked me for money, i was too flummoxed (!) to say anything

I’ve seen him too.. like something out of a horror movie. There’s also the Rasta flag dude you’ll see on the bus to Brixton, he likes to give impromptu sermons to his top deck ‘congregation’..

  3. […] I wrote a little about the Ratman a couple of months ago; today I found a blog by a Camberwell resident with a sneaky picture of him. […]
