Welcome to the Camberwell Online blog, a place for free and spirited exchange on anything with even a tangential connection to the South-East London district.

Welcome to version 3

Published by Peter | Filed under General

So, this is the new look. The design is only slightly adapted from an existing template, and I’ve only had a few days to implement it, so please let me know if you have any problems with reading or using the site and I’ll do my best to sort it out.

Should have some actual content for you soon.

Looking good - only gripe would be that the text of comments doesnt appear in the Recent Comments column on the right of the page

the Camberwell Welcome sign looks a bit like a tombstone - all ye who come here abandon hope!

@Mumu - Did you find the text useful? I can look into reimplementing that.

@bunbohue - I think that image would look great with dark black thunderclouds behind it, lit up by a bolt of lightning!

    Very nice. Very nice indeed.

But (there’s always one, isn’t there?) is http://www.camberwellonline.co.uk no longer going to be the gateway to the SE5 Forum site too?

Since Mumu hasn’t answered yet, I will say that I for one did find it useful to see the text of recent comments - that was how I knew if I’d read them or not.

As for the appearance of the new blog - well yes, it has a very pared-down look. I’m very conservative (small “c”), so I miss the old version - but I guess in a day or two I’ll have forgotten what the old version looked like!

Yes I did find it useful to have the text as well as the heading of the comment

…Plus the flickr pictures dont seem to change as they did before

And now on to proper Camberwell issues:

Travelling past on the bus yesterday I saw that the new shop Camberwell Local at Clarendon Terrace on Camberwell New Road (which I mentioned here on 19 April) has opened - has anyone been in a sample its wares?

  10. Mumu Says:

been in to sample its wares that should be! I have great hopes for it as a local deli/ food shop.

Did anyone see Paxo on Newsnight last night being splendidly sarky about HH’s inability to remember what she said about Iraq … ?

  13. Mushtimushta Says:

Looks like Margaret has gone from Margret to Margrte! It’s all change on this site.

  14. Margret Thatcher Says:

Mushtimushta Said, or whatever the hell that means,

“Looks like Margaret has gone from Margret to Margrte! It’s all change on this site.”

So you never hit the wrong key whilst typing?

Apart from that more serious things should be dicussed here.

Yes the Harlot Harman is showing her real colours.

She is a lawer after all, which of course means she is quite clearly a crook.
