I think Dagmar is refering to an old pub on Wyndham Road which has been turned into a 24 hour off licence/convienience store...but it still has the original pub sign promenently displayed

That lady can be such a cheeky scamp! ;-)

I did laugh out loud though...

Alan: I can't say I'm a massive fan I just like drawing pictures of men dressed up in silly costumes. The heavy metal drawings are on the other hand a labour of love.

Bit dissappointed there's no Boars Head. There certainly should be...

We knew to expect bones in the goat curry but were suprised by the ratio leaning very heavily towards the bone rather than the meat.

Goat curry is supposed to be served with the bones in.

The Boar's head doesn't exist? I don't get it Dagmar. Please explain.

The fact that the Boar's Head does not exist is no reason at all not to talk about it; look at the robust resilience of the British Economy and the environmental impact mitigation of traffic and planning policies, subjects much debated in some sectors of Camberwell.

Myself and Ms Standingby have been to the Amarylis to eat. Only the once mind. I had "organic" chicken and chips which which were very greasy but alright. MsStandingby had the goat curry which proved to be more bone than meat. Neither meal was very nice and we certainly wouldn't be going back to eat. We were saddened to see it become a predominately football pub and I shouldn't imagine we'll be going back there to drink either. What a waste...

Further Camberwell food exploits revealed that the Hermit's CAve seems to no longer do it's fantastic sunday lunches which were a firm favourite of ours, hearty home cooking in vast portions, hopefully they'll be back though. I can highly reccomend the Morrocan lamb stew at the Sun And Doves and everything we've ever had at the Bear has been great.

My favourite meals though are to be found at the Number 22 tapas bar in Herne Hill and a lovely dinner at Upstairs in Brixton many moons ago.

The Boars head sounds promising and I'm tempted to sample some of the beers on offer at the Fox O The Hill as part of the Wetherspoon's Ale Festival...
