I have vague memories of comedy nights at the Funky Munky or it may have been the Castle — not sure if they still run them. Otherwise the Landor Arms in SW9 has comedy nights on Sundays http://www.landortheatre.co.uk/

Amazing that fact about Peckham. Because despite all the money for regeneration it’s still rubbish for the most part. The bit near Dulwich is alright, but North of Peckham High Street/Queens Road is still woeful, worse than most of Camberwell. It still needs lots of help!

Not entirely relevant, but I was chatting to a contractor last night who is working on the cross-rail project. According to him phase two of the East London Line Extension (going through Denmark Hill and Peckhams Rye and Queens Road on the way to Clapham Junction) is going ahead — there has been no announcement but he claims the job is out to tender and that doesn’t happen unless funding is secured.

Might be a load of old crap but you never know.

Camberwell Green is surrounded by a SRN road (Camberwell Road) and a TLRN red route (Camberwell Church Street). These roads are dangerous, noisy and intimidating, and there can be little doubt that Camberwell Green will win this bid if Southwark can demonstrate negotiated commitments from TfL, attendant on award of the grant: to (1) reduce speeds around the Green to 20mph maximum; (2) enforce with zero tolerance against cyclist box occupation by motor vehicles around the Green; (3) prohibit any overtaking of moving vehicles, or lane change by drivers around the Green itself. With these measures in place and publicised, all uncertainty about the destination of these funds will be removed, as all Vote 'Green!
