Please end my loneliness

I was going to write a little more about the results of the recent shopping survey, but I find that it’s Friday already and I don’t have time. So just a quick reminder that I’ll be in the Sun & Doves on Sunday afternoon from about 4pm if anybody would like to come and join me and meet some of your fellow Camberwell residents. Hopefully JohnnyM will be there to tell us what idiots we all are!

Even if that doesn’t appeal, there’ll be a curated show by Stella Scott. I don’t know who that is or what it’s about.

If you haven’t met me before, here’s a photo of me dressed in a medieval hood, so you’ll be able to spot me (although I probably won’t be wearing the hood).

Please don’t leave me sitting there on my own.

  1. @ JohnnyM

What do you work hard at? Appologies if you have already laid this out in a previous posting. Im reasonably new to this circus.

As an aside, you may want to reflect up on this -

“Jump, Jump, into the safety net below!.. How we laughed; there was no safety net!”

  2. Why does that matter? What’s the worst answer?

Round here it’s probably Daily Mail journalist or Foxtons estate agent. In my opinion it’s life coaching but I’m even coming round to that..

  3. Oh. I thought you were hoping to pigeon hole him so that you could dismiss him more readily. My bad.

What do you then Duff? I used to say professional gambler but then I wiped out my betfair account laying bets on long shots. Now — I’m a Dad.

  4. You’re right, I read JohnnyM’s comment while in a bad mood and reacted poorly. I’m sorry. He gives to charity, so obviously can’t be a bad person; it is we who are all bad.

  5. Im too new to have formed a strong opinion about him so no. Besides its just a forum I think its highly unlikely I’m going to catch feelings over JonnyM.

Its an IT job.. I can elaborate if requested to do so but as it bores most people to tears I will currently refrain from doing so.

  6. It really depends on what Charity he gives to. Do you not remember the Prince Of Wales some years back calling into question whether a group set up to preserve old steam engines should qualify for charity status. Or to go one step further the chappies in pubs collecting for ‘Orphans’.

    * I’m all for preserving old locomotives.

  7. JohnnyM — Peter may put himself in a public forum but that is no excuse to make personal comments about his appearance. Would you do this to his face? I think the anonymity of the internet can unfortunately make many of us a little cruel and unthinking — it’s easy to insult someone you’ve never met from the safety of a keyboard. I always think you shoudl treat people with politness and courtesy whether debating with them online or in person.

  8. As regards charity, I like to give to Nazi prostitutes, a very deserving cause, in my honest opinion.

Anybody tried out the reopened Redstar yet?

  9. Fair point about personal insults Hannah. Furthermore I think Peter is moderately handsome.

I do think anonymity is good for debate though as issues are not avoided for fear of offending people.

  10. I think debate is good i just worry that people often use internet fora to be pointlessly abusive in a way they would never dare to in real life. Having said that it is usually very civiclised here.

  11. Johnny M @ 47

I didn’t miss out on home ownership — I just happen to believe in a more cerebral, responsible and sustainable way of doing business

    I just don’t believe in Keynesian/Neo-Conservative economics —

What I do believe in is human beings learning from our past mistakes and forging a new blueprint for the future rather than going back to the one which existed in 1800 and selling it to the whole world as freedom and democracy when it isn’t anything of the sort…

  12. @42 — Alan, you’re half right.

It’s both a place to be seen, and not to be seen, depending on the context.

  13. I lost £15 on Kauto Star this week, so I’m hoping what goes around comes around to me tomorrow for the National.

Not much enthusiasm for the reopened Redstar, then, hey? I might pop down myself tomorrow and scope it out, guzzling my winnings in the process.
